You can view and edit field metadata, such as type, precision, and scale.
You can edit the field metadata for source and target objects with certain connector types. You can't edit field metadata for lookup sources.
To view and edit field metadata, expand the Field Data Types section on the appropriate page of the task editor.
If you edit field metadata in the task and the metadata in the object changes after the task is saved, Data Integration doesn't use the updated metadata. To get updated metadata from the object, click Refresh Fields. Refreshing fields replaces the field metadata in the task with the metadata in the object.
