Elastic runtime environments

An elastic runtime environment uses elastic scaling to provide a runtime environment option that optimizes resource management. Use an elastic runtime environment to handle fluctuating workload demands and manage workload costs.
An elastic runtime environment uses Kubernetes to run a Secure Agent and to process data on cluster nodes. Cluster nodes that process data can scale up or down based on workload demands from IDMC.
The following services can use an elastic runtime environment:
* Only document classification can run in an elastic runtime environment.
Note:
Effective in the April 2026 release, elastic runtime environments are available for preview in API Center and Application Integration. Preview functionality is supported for evaluation purposes but is unwarranted and is not supported in production environments or any environment that you plan to push to production. Informatica intends to include the preview functionality in an upcoming release for production use, but might choose not to in accordance with changing market or technical circumstances. For more information, contact Informatica Global Customer Support.
To create an elastic runtime environment, complete the following tasks:
  1. 1Verify that you have an AWS account with the correct permissions and that your organization administrator has the correct feature privileges in Administrator.
  2. 2Set up the AWS environment to create and configure the required AWS resources.
  3. 3Create the elastic runtime environment in Administrator.
  4. 4Deploy the elastic runtime environment on AWS.
  5. 5Optionally, upload parameter files and supplementary files to the EFS for system storage to allow tasks to access parameter configurations and custom dependencies.
  6. 6Optionally, upload flat files to the EFS for data storage to use them as sources in mappings and tasks.
