Introduction to survivorship

Survivorship is the process of creating a master record or the most trusted version of a record from multiple matching source records. The survivorship process begins after the matching process identifies the matching source records. You must run a match and merge job to create master records based on the survivorship configuration. To configure survivorship, you define survivorship rules and rank source systems from which records originate.
The following image shows field data in records from three different source systems being consolidated into a single master record.
The survivorship example shows data from three source systems, sales, accounts, and marketing, that combine to form the master record.
