You can copy projects, folders, predefined assets, and custom assets to other locations, so you don't have to create them from scratch. By copying, you can speed up and simplify the creation of assets.
To copy assets, ensure that you have the create, read, and update privileges for the asset types that you plan to copy.
You can copy assets from predefined or custom folders or projects to other custom folders or projects, but not to predefined folders or projects.
When you copy an asset into a different folder that contains an asset with the same name, you can overwrite the asset in the folder or keep both. If you choose to overwrite the asset, you can merge the asset tags. If you choose to keep both assets, MDM SaaS appends the new asset name with Copy x where x is the sequential copy number.
Note: You can't copy some of the predefined assets, such as authorization, business application, report, reference data, and report set.
Copying projects, folders, and assets

1On the Explore page, navigate to the objects that you want to copy.
2Select the objects.
3Click the Actions icon, and then click Copy To.
4Browse to a new location, and click Select.
5If an asset with the same name exists in the new location, choose the action that you want to perform:
- Replace. Replaces the asset with the copied asset. If you want to merge the asset tags, select Merge Tags on Replace.
- Keep Both. Keeps both the assets, and MDM SaaS appends the new asset name with Copy x, where x is the sequential copy number.
