Modernize the on-premises objects

Modernization is the process that helps you transition from an on-premises MDM implementation to a SaaS implementation. You can modernize by migrating the on-premises configuration from the MDM Hub to MDM SaaS. MDM SaaS is a cloud-native service that enables organizations to master their data within a secure, scalable, and reliable environment.

You can modernize objects, such as lookup tables, business entities, user roles, users, match rule sets, survivorship configurations, source systems, hierarchies, and relationships, from the MDM Hub for MDM SaaS. Migrating to MDM SaaS enables you to take advantage of the scalability, flexibility, and continuous updates that MDM SaaS provides.

You can extract these objects from the MDM Hub as a change list XML file and as a CSV file. The Hub Console provides tools to export these configuration files, which serve as the foundation for modernization.

Currently, you can modernize business entities that use the USA population in their match model configurations.

Note: Effective in the October 2025 release, the ability to migrate the on-premises configuration from the MDM Hub to MDM SaaS is available for preview.

Preview functionality is supported for evaluation purposes but is unwarranted and is not supported in production environments or any environment that you plan to push to production. Informatica intends to include the preview functionality in an upcoming release for production use, but might choose not to in accordance with changing market or technical circumstances.
