Finding records

To find a record, you can either enter a search text in a search box or perform a filtered search. A search can return multiple matching records. You can sort and filter the search results to refine the search results.
Use the search box to perform a full-text search. When you use the search box, you can search within a specific business entity or across multiple business entities. You can search for records in English and Japanese.
Use filtered search to specify a criteria for your search. To repeatedly perform the same search with the configured filter values, you can save a search and run it at any time. To repeatedly perform a search with the predefined fields, you can save a filtered search as a template. You can use different values in the search template and perform the search multiple times. You can open any record and view the complete details of it.
You can search for records with fields that contain values, don't contain any values, or contain values that exactly or approximately match the specified value. You can't search for dynamic field values and filter search results based on dynamic fields. Also, you can't search and replace dynamic field values.
If a record has multiple entries for a field group, the search result displays the first entry even when the search term might match another entry. For example, when you search for California, the search result might display New York as the city. In this scenario, the record might have multiple addresses, and the search result displayed the first address that has New York as the city.
If you use a source business ID to search for a record, the search returns the master record to which the source record contributes.
If you use a master business ID to search for a record, the search returns all the records that contain the searched record as related record.
For example, you can use the business ID of an organization record to search for all the employee records that contain the organization record as a related record.
You can view the fields based on which the search results match the search term.
Note: After you add or update records, it might take about a second for the records to become searchable.
