You can configure AWS PrivateLink to enable private communication between the serverless runtime environment hosted on AWS platform and a Kafka endpoint.
To enable private communication, perform the following steps:
1Specify the DNS address from the hosted instance with its resource configuration ID in the Advanced Custom Properties field in the serverless runtime environment properties.
For example, <resourceConfigId>:<Kafka Instance DNS Address>
2Specify the same DNS address as the host name in the Kafka Broker List field in the Kafka connection.
3Update the Kafka listeners to use the DNS address for client connections.
aLog in to the hosted instance.
bNavigate to <kafka_installation_directory>/config/server.properties.
cEdit the listeners property, PLAINTEXT://your.host.name:9092, with the DNS address for the host name instead of the default IP address.
