A collection of prebuilt, reusable assets that you can use to connect, automate, and standardize business processes that require integration across multiple applications.
Used by Application Integration.
redeploy
The act of deploying an application ingestion and replication job or database ingestion and replication again after making certain types of updates to the associated task definition. For example, in the task definition, you can add sources and edit the fields that are available, without first undeploying the job. After you make these changes to the task definition, you must redeploy the job to restart the job to have the changes take effect.
Used by Data Ingestion and Replication.
reference catalog source
A catalog source that contains references from other source systems along with the source and target tables mapping. When you perform metadata extraction on an ETL catalog source, Metadata Command Center extracts connections from the ETL catalog source and creates a reference catalog source.
Used by Metadata Command Center, Data Governance and Catalog.
reference data set
A logical grouping of reference data. A reference data set represents a category of reference data and acts as a template and container for code lists.
Used by Reference 360.
reference source system
An external source that is referenced by a source system associated with a catalog source. Also called "referenced source system."
Used by Metadata Command Center, Data Governance and Catalog.
related objects
Multiple source objects joined by a relationship defined in the source system or a custom relationship defined in the Source transformation.
Used by Data Integration.
relationship behavior
Relationships between parent and child objects. If you select multiple source objects and you apply a data filter in a masking task, you can configure the relationship behavior in the task. A masking task selects all parent records of an object in order to maintain referential integrity. You can configure the behavior to include child objects that you want to include. The results of the task differ based on how you configure the behavior.
Used by Data Integration.
relationship discovery
The inference of relations between the assets. For example, this capability identifies related columns and tables in a catalog source and provides recommendations for joining them.
Used by Metadata Command Center.
relationship inference model
A model consisting of user-defined rules and machine learning components. It is used to predict column similarity relationships within a catalog source.
Used by Metadata Command Center.
repeatable output
Deterministic masked output values created when you configure a masking rule with a seed value. A masking task with the same source data and the same seed value returns the same masked values each time it runs.
Used by Data Integration.
replication task
A task that replicates data from Salesforce or database sources to database or file targets. You might replicate data to archive data, perform offline reporting, or consolidate and manage data.
Used by Data Integration.
restart point
The point from which a mapping task starts extracting source change records in logs that contains source data.
In Application Ingestion and Replication or in Database Ingestion and Replication, the start point is the change stream or database log that contains source data from which an ingestion and replication job starts extracting source change records.
Used by Data Integration, Connectors, Data Integration and Replication.
role
A set of privileges that you can assign to a user or group.
Can be used by all services.
rule
A process that evaluates a data or metadata input and generates a result that a person or another process can act on.
In Data Access Management, a rule triggers an action related to data access control, data filter, or data de-identification.
In Data Governance and Catalog, a rule triggers an action on metadata access.
In Data Quality, rule specifications can be abbreviated to rules.
Used by Data Governance and Catalog, Data Access Management. Data Quality.
rule specification asset
An asset that represents the data requirements of a business rule in logical form. A rule specification is built from a series of IF/THEN/ELSE rule statements that read an input value and return an output or a logical decision in response to the input. Use to define complex rules quickly and easily.
Used by Data Quality, Master Data Management.
rule statement
A unit of logic in a rule specification. A rule statement is an IF/THEN/ELSE statement that reads an input value and returns an output or a logical decision as a response to the input. Users configure a rule statement in a rule set within a rule specification.
Used by Data Quality, Master Data Management.
runtime environment
The execution platform that run tasks. A runtime environment is either the Informatica Cloud Hosted Agent or a Secure Agent group. You must have at least one runtime environment in each organization so that users in the organization can run tasks.
