Salesforce Managed Package
An Application Integration package that you install in your Salesforce organization. The Salesforce Managed Package links your organization and Salesforce organizations. Use the Salesforce Managed Package to create and run Salesforce-related assets.
Used by Application Integration.
sampling option
The process to determine whether to run a data profiling task on all rows or on a limited number of rows.
Used by Data Profiling.
saved query
A Data Integration object that you can create from one or more source database tables. You can use a saved query as the source object in a synchronization task. For example, you might create a saved query to include source filters or to perform a complicated join of multiple tables.
Used by Data Integration.
schema graph
A graphical representation of the relationships between multiple source objects in a masking task.
Used by Data Integration.
Secure Agent
A lightweight program that runs tasks and collects metadata for IDMC. A Secure Agent enables secure communication across the firewall between IDMC and your organization or a cloud computing services environment. A Secure Agent runs within a Secure Agent group.
Can be used by all services.
Secure Agent cluster
A Secure Agent group with a master Secure Agent. All agents within a cluster share the master agent's PostgreSQL database.
Can be used by all services.
Secure Agent group
A type of runtime environment that consists of one or more Secure Agents.
Can be used by all services.
Secure Agent machine
The machine that runs the Secure Agent.
Can be used by all services.
seed asset
An asset for which a data lineage is generated and displayed.
Used by Data Governance and Catalog.
seed value
A starting point for creating repeatable output in masked data. Assign the same seed value to related columns and use key masking to enforce consistent masking.
Used by Data Integration.
serverless runtime environment
A type of runtime environment that a service in IDMC creates and manages. For example, Data Integration creates and manages a serverless runtime environment that you can use to run tasks based on mappings.
A serverless runtime environment doesn’t require the download or maintenance of a Secure Agent or Secure Agent group. The IDMC service creates the serverless runtime environment in Informatica’s cloud environment and connects it to your cloud environment.
Used by Data Integration.
service
A component at the sub-product level that runs within IDMC. For example, Administrator, Application Integration, Data Integration, Monitor, and Operational Insights are individual services that run within IDMC.
Can be used by all services.
service endpoint
A REST or SOAP service URL that is available when you publish a process or connection, for example in Application Integration. You can invoke a service endpoint in a browser or a client or embed the service endpoint within another application.
Can be used by all services.
Smart Map
An Automatch option that leverages CLAIRE intelligence to map fields with similar names. Also called "fuzzy match."
Used by Data Integration.
source filter characters
The source characters that you want to mask or the source characters that you want to skip masking, based on the source filter type. Each character is case-sensitive.
Used by Data Integration.
source record
A record that originates from an external system or from changes made within Master Data Management. Source records from multiple source systems can contribute to the master record. A source record can have multiple versions.
Used by Master Data Management.
SQL ELT mode
A mapping mode that writes data to a cloud data warehouse and reads data from a source in the same cloud ecosystem or in a compatible hyperscaler. In SQL ELT mode, data processing occurs within the underlying cloud infrastructure. For example, you need to move data in an Azure Data Lake Storage data lake to your Snowflake cloud data warehouse, and you want all the data processing to occur within the Snowflake ecosystem.
Used by Data Integration.
SQL ELT optimization
A runtime optimization method in a mapping task that applies to relational database and cloud data warehouse endpoints. For relational endpoints, you can use SQL ELT optimization to push transformation logic to source or target endpoints within the same ecosystem. For cloud data warehouse endpoints, the source and target can reside within the same ecosystem, or the source can be a data lake from a different cloud ecosystem.
Used by Data Integration.
step
One or more links that you add to an asset, process, or guide.
In Application Integration, examples include a Data Decision step, Parallel step, and Assignment step.
In Data Quality, you configure steps ion a cleanse asset.
Used by Application Integration, Data Quality.
streaming ingestion and replication task
A Mass Ingestion task that transfers real-time streaming and machine data from selected sources to selected messaging systems and batch targets.
Used by Data Ingestion and Replication.
subdomain
A division within a domain hierarchy that represents concepts and activities. A subdomain separates the definitions across relevant themes.
Used by Data Governance and Catalog.
sub-organization
An organization in IDMC that is a child organization to another organization. A sub-organization inherits most licenses from the parent organization, but it has its own set of users and assets.
Can be used by all services.
subprocess
A process embedded within another process.
Used by Application Integration.
subscription
An asset that defines the type, format, and schedule of data flow from the Informatica Cloud Integration Hub publication repository to a data target.
Used by Integration Hub.
synchronization task
A Data Integration task that synchronizes data between a source and target. A synchronization task loads data and integrates applications, databases, and files. Includes add-on functionality such as custom queries and mapplets.
Used by Data Integration.
system service
Built-in connections in Application Integration. For example, email service and messaging service. You can use a system service within a guide or process.
Used by Application Integration.
