Processes on a Customer Managed Secure Agent group
Processes that you publish to a Customer Managed Secure Agent group continue to run when the group is disconnected from Intelligent Data Management Cloud (IDMC). The agents accept new requests, start scheduled processes, and store the results until the group reconnects. The agent uses its own copy of the feature settings and issues its own authentication tokens.
Application Integration behaves as follows in a Customer Managed Secure Agent group:
•Publishing. Publish each asset to the group individually. IDMC doesn't publish Application Integration assets when you synchronize the runtime environment or when the group reconnects. Publish dependent assets, such as subprocesses, connections, and service connectors, before you publish the processes that use them.
•Scheduling. Scheduled processes run from the schedule on the agent.
•Invoking. Invoke published processes through a Secure Agent in the group. Log in to the Secure Agent to get a local authentication token, and include the token in the RM-USER-TOKEN request header when you invoke a process. The Secure Agent routes the request to a healthy agent in the group. To invoke processes when the agent group is disconnected, you need the Offline Secure Agent API Access privilege.
•Settings. When an agent starts, it saves the feature settings that it receives from IDMC. While the group is disconnected, the agent uses the saved settings. After the group reconnects, you must synchronize the agent to refresh the settings.
•Monitoring. IDMC shows process activity only after the group reconnects. After the group reconnects, IDMC retrieves the process status from the agent when you request it.
Rules and guidelines
Consider the following rules and guidelines when you run processes on a Customer Managed Secure Agent group:
•The Customer Managed Secure Agent group can contain one or more Secure Agents. All agents in the group form a cluster.
•Start every agent while the group is connected to IDMC, because a disconnected agent can't restart.
•Connect the group to IDMC at least once a month to prevent billing issues.
•A process can call only processes in same runtime environment.
•You can't publish Application Integration assets in bulk.
