Starting and stopping an event source in a listener-based connection

You can start and stop event sources in listener-based connections that run on a Secure Agent or a Secure Agent group. You can also start and stop event sources in Kafka connections that have been published on the Cloud Server. With this option, you do not have to unpublish and republish the connection to stop and start the event-based processes.
To start and stop an event source in a connection, perform the following steps:
  1. 1In Application Integration Console, click Connections on the left navigation bar.
  2. 2Select Cloud or a Secure Agent to see the connections.
  3. 3Expand the connections to view the event sources.
  4. 4Select one or more event sources that you want to start or stop, and click Start or Stop accordingly.
  5. The Update Listener Status dialog box appears.
  6. 5To start an event source in a connection that has been published on the Cloud Server, click Start to proceed.
  7. The status of the event source is updated to Started on the Connections page.
  8. 6To stop an event source in a connection that has been published on the Cloud Server, click Stop to proceed.
  9. The status of the event source is updated to Stopped on the Connections page.
  10. 7To start an event source in a connection that has been published on a Secure Agent, perform one of the following steps:
  11. The status of the event source is updated to Started on the Connections page.
  12. 8To stop an event source in a connection that has been published on a Secure Agent, perform one of the following steps:
  13. The status of the event source is updated to Stopped on the Connections page.
Application Integration also updates the event source status on the Event Sources tab of the connection as shown in the following image:
The image shows the event source status on the Event Sources tab of a listener-based connection.
For a connection that runs on the Cloud Server, a Secure Agent, or a Secure Agent group, if the status of the event source is stopped, you can also republish the connection and restart the event source. However, when you republish the connection, all the event sources in the connection start by default. In case of a Secure Agent, all the event sources in the connection start only if the Secure Agent is up and running. The status is updated on the Event Sources tab of the connection and on the Connections page in Application Integration Console. If you unpublish the connection, all the active event sources in the connection are stopped and the connection is removed from the Connections page in Application Integration Console.
Note: You might need to refresh the connection to view the updated status.
