SAP IDoc connection overview

Use an SAP IDoc connection to read data from or write data to SAP through IDocs. An SAP IDoc connection establishes the link between your integration platform and the SAP system by configuring connection details, such as the SAP application server, system number, and client ID. The connection supports various communication protocols including RFC and ensures secure authentication through user credentials. Once configured, the connection enables the transmission of IDocs to and from SAP, facilitating processes, such as data synchronization, transactional messaging, and system interoperability.
After you create the connection, you can validate, save, and test it to ensure that it works correctly. You can then publish the SAP IDoc connection and click the Metadata tab to view the generated process objects for the connection. These process objects help you integrate and interact with SAP data using the IDoc format.
