Introduction to Datacom Connector

You can use Datacom Connector to connect to a PowerExchange environment to move records from a Datacom source database on a z/OS system.
Datacom Connector must be able to connect to an active PowerExchange environment that includes the PowerExchange Listener. You do not need to copy the PowerExchange dbmover configuration file to the Datacom Connector system. For more information about configuring PowerExchange for Datacom Connector, see the PowerExchange Bulk Data Movement Guide.
Datacom Connector works with the Informatica Cloud Secure Agent. When you install and start the Secure Agent, it downloads the Datacom Connector components and the PowerExchange Client packages. When you define a runtime environment, you configure a Secure Agent group.
To move Datacom source data, you run a mapping or a mapping task.
When you define mappings in Data Integration, you select the data maps that PowerExchange generated for Datacom source database. The Datacom Connector metadata adapter can then retrieve the source metadata and store this information in the cloud.
After you materialize a target, you can use PowerExchange Change Data Capture (CDC), if this option is available at your site, to update the target on a continuous basis. By moving only the change data, you can refresh data on the target faster.
Note: Datacom Connector does not work with the Hosted Agent.
