Introduction to Db2 Data Map Connector

You can use Db2 Data Map Connector to connect to a PowerExchange Db2 Data Map environment to retrieve records for registered Db2 data map sources. The PowerExchange Listener retrieves metadata from the data map repository and records from the Db2 data map sources. The data is returned to the PowerExchange Bulk Reader, which sends the records to Data Integration. Data Integration can then send the records to a supported target.
Db2 Data Map Connector must be able to connect to an active PowerExchange environment that includes the PowerExchange Listener. You do not need to copy the PowerExchange dbmover configuration file to the Db2 Data Map Connector system. For more information about configuring PowerExchange for Db2 Data Map Connector, see the PowerExchange Bulk Data Movement Guide.
Db2 Data Map Connector works with the Informatica Cloud Secure Agent. When you install and start the Secure Agent, it downloads the Db2 Data Map Connector components and the PowerExchangeClient packages. When you define a runtime environment, you configure a Secure Agent group.
To retrieve source records from the data map repository, you must run a mapping or a mapping task.
When you define mappings in Data Integration, you select the data maps that PowerExchange generated for the Db2 data map source data sets. The Db2 Data Map Connector metadata adapter can then retrieve the source metadata from the data maps and store this information in the cloud.
Note: Db2 Data Map Connector does not work with the Hosted Agent.
