Db2 for i Connector usage scenario

You can use Db2 for i Connector to connect to an on-premises PowerExchange for Db2 for i system from a Linux and Windows system where the Secure Agent is installed.
You can use the browser-based Informatica Intelligent Cloud Services interfaces to define Db2 for i connections, mappings, and mapping tasks.
With Informatica Intelligent Cloud Services interfaces, you gain access to easy-to-use, browser-based interfaces for defining mappings and mapping tasks and running and monitoring mapping tasks. When you run the mapping and mapping tasks, Db2 for i Connector components, in conjunction with Data Integration, read and process the data that Db2 for i Connector read from the Db2 for i database.
Db2 for i Connector components retrieve metadata for Db2 source tables. The source metadata is stored in the Informatica Intelligent Cloud Services cloud. You can use the browser-based Data Integration and Administrator interfaces to define Db2 for i connections, mappings, and mapping tasks. When you run the mappings or mapping tasks, Db2 for i Connector components in conjunction with Data Integration retrieve and process the records that PowerExchange replicated from the production database and transmit these records to one or more targets, including another Db2 for i system. Multiple users can then access the latest data on the target systems.
