Introduction to Db2 for z/OS Bulk Load Connector

You can use Db2 for z/OS Bulk Load Connector to connect to a PowerExchange environment to move data to a Db2 for z/OS Bulk Load data set, and create a load card and JCL for optionally loading the data into Db2. You do not need to create a data map. The connector imports the metadata that PowerExchange reads from the DB2 catalog to create a target. PowerExchange uses these transformations to access the target tables. On a write, Data Integration sends data to the PowerExchange Bulk Writer, which sends the data to the PowerExchange listener on the z/OS system.
Db2 for z/OS Bulk Load Connector must be able to connect to an active PowerExchange environment that includes the PowerExchange Listener. You do not need to copy the PowerExchange dbmover configuration file to the Db2 for z/OS Bulk Load Connector system. For more information about configuring PowerExchange for Db2 for z/OS Bulk Load Connector, see the PowerExchange Bulk Data Movement Guide.
Db2 for z/OS Bulk Load Connector works with the Informatica Cloud Secure Agent. When you install and start the Secure Agent, it downloads the Db2 for z/OS Bulk Load Connector components and the PowerExchangeClient packages. When you define a runtime environment, you configure a Secure Agent group.
To move bulk data to a Db2 for z/OS Bulk Load data set, and create a load card and JCL for optionally loading the data into Db2, you must run a mapping or a mapping task.
Note: Db2 for z/OS Bulk Load Connector does not work with the Hosted Agent.
