Amazon S3 connections enable you to read data from or write data to Amazon S3. You can use Amazon S3 connections to specify sources and targets in synchronization tasks, mappings, and mapping tasks.
You can use AWS Identity and Access Management (IAM) authentication to securely control access to Amazon S3 resources. If you have valid AWS credentials and you want to use IAM authentication, you do not have to specify the access key and secret key when you create an Amazon S3 connection.
Create a connection and associate it with a synchronization task, mapping, or mapping task. Define the source and target properties to read data from or write data to Amazon S3.
You create an Amazon S3 connection on the Connections page. You can then use the connection in the Mapping Designer when you create a mapping or in the Synchronization Task wizard when you create a task.
