You can duplicate an expression field to reuse its metadata or to copy complex expression logic to a new field.
When you duplicate an expression field, Data Integration creates a new field directly below the original field and copies the original field metadata, including the configured expression and description, to the new field.
To avoid naming conflicts, Data Integration appends the new field name with an underscore and the field instance number. For example, if you duplicate the field Customer_Name_out, the new field name is Customer_Name_out_2.
Data Integration truncates field names that contain more than 255 characters.
To duplicate an expression field, in the row that contains the field you want to copy, click the Duplicate icon.
