edit record
A type of record that Master Data Management creates when you edit a master record in Master Data Management. An edit record is similar to a source record.

Elastic Server
A Secure Agent service that pushes data integration jobs to an advanced cluster for processing and manages the cluster.

embedded guide
A guide that can be accessed from within another guide.
Used by Application Integration.
event
An action that takes place at a point in time, such as starting a process, saving a change, sending a message. An event may also be an anomaly observed in the data.

exact match
A one hundred percent match between two values.
In Data Integration, the Exact field name option automatically maps fields with the same name.
In a deduplicate asset in Data Quality, the Filter Exact Duplicates option determines whether pairs of identical records pass directly to the next stage at run time without additional analysis.
In Master Data Management, exact match is a strategy that matches records based on identical values in a set of fields that an administrator defines. The matching records represent the same entity, even if other fields in the record contain different values.

exception
A record identified in a data quality rule that falls below the threshold limit for a score that is considered acceptable.

expression editor
A tool that you use to create expressions using fields and functions.

extension
A package of pre-configured assets that accelerates the implementation of a business application and extends its capabilities.
