Getting started
You can load data to Azure Data Warehouse in just a few steps.
Step 1. Deploy a Secure Agent
A Secure Agent is a lightweight program that runs Azure data sync tasks and enables secure communication across the firewall between your organization and Data Accelerator for Azure.
You can use one of the following methods to deploy a Secure Agent:
- •Deploy a Secure Agent on a new Azure Data Warehouse virtual machine (VM).
- •Install a Secure Agent behind your firewall or on an existing VM.
Step 2. Create a target connection
When you configure a target connection, you specify the Azure Data Warehouse object where you want to load the data. You can create several target connections. Then when you create an Azure data sync task, you can choose from a list of available connections.
Step 3. Create a source connection
When you configure a source connection, you specify the location of the source data and any necessary credentials that enables the transfer of data from the source object to the target object.
Step 4. Load data to Azure
Create and run an Azure data sync task to load data to Azure Data Warehouse. Save the Azure data sync task so that you can use it again.
If you want to organize your Azure data sync tasks, you can create projects and folders in Data Accelerator for Azure so that you can easily find what you need on the Explore page.
