Business assets help you describe why, where, and how you use your data to make business decisions. Business assets provide context to your data using relationships with other business assets and through simpler representations of technical data.
In Data Governance and Catalog, you can create or import business assets of different types such as AI model, business term, process, domain, or metric. A business asset can represent an actual asset in your organization or represent a business concept like finance or human resources.
When you create a business asset, you can populate multiple predefined attributes to define the asset. You can also add custom attributes to include additional details about an asset that are unique to your business requirement. You can rate or comment on business assets to collaborate with the users in your organization. When users collaborate on an asset, they might gain insight into the quality of data and expose details of the asset's usage in your business. You can also define relationships between assets, assign asset stakeholders, and keep an audit of changes performed on an asset.
