When you open an asset, you might have more than one layout to view the asset. If you have several layouts assigned to you, you can switch between them to see the attributes of the asset in various display formats.
A layout is a customization with a specific list of attributes that appear in a particular order on the page. Each layout typically contains a different customization of tabs, panels and attributes for the asset. An administrator customizes a layout for an asset type in Metadata Command Center and assigns the layout to your user group or user role.
Switch between layouts
By default, an asset appears in the layout specified by the administrator in Metadata Command Center. To see the asset in other display formats, click on the layouts icon on the page.

From the available options, you can override the default layout with another layout by clicking the bookmark icon. When you open an asset of that asset type the next time, the asset will appear in the layout that you now set as default.
