Home page

After you log in, Data Marketplace displays the Home page.
By default, Data Marketplace opens the General layout for the Home page. If you are assigned a predefined Data Marketplace role, you can also view an alternate layout for the Home page with widgets tailored to your role. Your administrator may choose to further customize the Home page by creating a different layout for the page.
You can use the Switch Layout icon to switch between the layouts to view a different presentation of information on each layout. You can click the Set As Default icon next to a particular layout to set it as your personal default.

General Home page

On General layout for the Home page, you can view the total number of categories, data collections, orders and consumer accesses that are available in Data Marketplace.

  2. 2To view your notifications and the actions that you need to perform, click the Notifications icon.
  3. 3In the Recent Data Collections carousel, you can view the most recently created data collections.
    4. To view the details of a data collection, click the data collection. For more information about data collections, see Data collections.
  4. 4In the Categories section, you can view all active root categories.
    5. To view the details of a category, click a category. For more information about categories, see Categories.
  5. 5To familiarize yourself with the page that you are viewing, click the Guide Me icon to open the Guide panel. The Guide panel provides an overview on the page that you are viewing. For more information, see Guide Me panel.
  6. 6To switch between the layouts to view a different presentation of information on each layout, use the Switch Layout icon.

Your Home page

The Home page has various predefined layouts, with widgets tailored uniquely to each Data Marketplace role. The personalized selection of widgets on these predefined layouts equips each user with the tools and information specific to their role's requirements. Additionally, the Home page has predefined layouts featuring a unique set of widgets that are displayed only when no data collections are defined in Data Marketplace.
For example, if you are an administrator who is getting started with setting up an empty Data Marketplace, the predefined layout available to you will display widgets tailored to help you to set up Data Marketplace for your organization. Alternatively, as a stakeholder of a data collection, you'll interact with a distinct set of widgets that allow you to respond to tasks assigned to you. As a consumer, you will be given widgets that allow you to search for data or track your orders and consumer accesses.

By default, a unique layout is assigned to each predefined role in Data Marketplace. Each of these layouts have a unique set of widgets available on it. The set of widgets that are displayed in each layout also depend on whether or not data is added to Data Marketplace.

Configure Data Marketplace

Count of Categories
Number of categories that you are authorized to view.
Count of Data Collections
Number of data collections that you are authorized to view.
Count of My Orders
Number of orders submitted by you.
Count of My Accesses
Number of consumer accesses that you have on data collections.
Count of My Requests
Number of data collection requests submitted by you.
Create Categories
Create a category directly from the interface. Optionally, use a bulk create template file to quickly create multiple categories.
Create Data Collections
Create a data collection directly from the interface. Optionally, use a bulk create template file to quickly create multiple data collections.
Create Terms of Use
Opens the Setup > Terms of Use tab where you can create terms of use directly from the interface. Optionally, use a bulk create template file to quickly create multiple terms of use.
