If you created a data collection accidentally or if a data collection is obsolete, you can delete it.
Before you can delete a collection, verify the following prerequisites:
Verify the privileges and permissions
Verify one of the following:
- Your user profile is assigned the Data Marketplace Administrator role.
- You are either an inherited or specifically assigned stakeholder with one of the following stakeholder roles on the data collection:
▪ Data Owner
▪ Category Owner
- You are assigned as a stakeholder on the data collection and your user profile is assigned a role for which the following privileges and permissions are enabled:
▪ Access Data Marketplace privilege is enabled in Administrator.
▪ Delete and Read permissions are enabled in Metadata Command Center for data collections.
Verify that the data collection doesn't have a consumer access, order or request
Ensure that the data collection that you want to delete does not have a consumer access, an order or a new data collection request in it.
2In the Data Collection Summary panel on the data collection page, click the Delete button.
You can also delete a data collection from the category page of the data collection. To do this, in the Data Collections grid on the category page, click the Action > Delete button next to the data collection that you want to delete.
3In the Delete Data Collection dialog box, click Delete.
The data collection that you selected is deleted. When you delete a collection, the delivery targets associated with it are deleted. However, the data assets and terms of use that are associated with the data collection are not deleted.
Note: If the data collection that you want to delete is linked to another collection, this link is removed when you delete the data collection. In this scenario, the other collection that was linked does not get deleted.
