Using Data Quality, you can view scores that are generated for each data asset. You can use these scores to determine the reliability of your data.
Data Quality is an on-demand subscription service that provides all the features that you need to verify, standardize, and improve the quality of your business data.
The data quality score of a data asset is determined by the score of each data element that constitutes the asset. You can use a REST API to manage the data quality information of each data element that comprises a data asset. For more information about how you can use a REST API to manage the data quality record of a data element, see the Manage the data quality information of a data element topic in the API Reference help.
The data quality score of a data asset is measured when you perform one of the following actions:
•Use a REST API to create a data quality record for a data element of a data asset.
•Use a REST API to modify the data quality record of a data element of a data asset.
•Add or remove data elements from a data asset.
For data assets that are imported from Data Governance and Catalog, the scores are retrieved directly from Data Governance and Catalog. You cannot use a Data Marketplace API to modify the data quality score of a Data Governance and Catalog asset.
Data Marketplace uses the following colors to visualize the data quality information:
•Green: Indicates that the data quality score is above the target value, and represents a "Good" score.
•Amber: Indicates that the data quality score is between the threshold and target value, and represents an "Acceptable" score.
•Red: Indicates that the data quality score is below the threshold value, and represents a score that is "Not Acceptable".
These colors allow you to distinguish helpful data from unhelpful data according to the target and threshold values defined in Data Marketplace or in Data Governance and Catalog.
