Customize the Guide Me panel to offer assistance that is contextual to the page that you are viewing.
Create a new Guide Me panel for a page or clone an existing Guide Me panel for a page. You can specify the default sections for display, rearrange the sections, or add custom content to reflect your organization's requirements. This ensures that the information in the Guide Me panel aligns seamlessly with your organization's unique usage of Data Marketplace.
Assign one or more Guide Me panel layouts to users with specific roles, to users that are part of specific user groups, or to all users in your organization. If your users have multiple versions of the Guide Me panel assigned to them, they can use the Switch Layout button to switch between each version to see the information available on them.
The following image shows how you can switch between the various layouts available on the Guide Me panel of the Search page:
Creating Guide Me panels
Create customized help content for the Guide Me panel.
To perform this task, verify the following prerequisites:
•Your user profile is assigned one of the following roles:
- Technical Administrator
- Data Marketplace Administrator
•Your user profile is assigned a role for which the View Set up Page and Configure and Manage Data Marketplace privileges are enabled in Administrator.
1Open the Setup page.
2On the Setup > Layout tab, click the Create layout > Page button.
Alternatively, you can use the Clone button from the Action menu next to an existing layout to create a new one.
3In the Create New Guide Me Panel dialog box, configure the properties for the new Guide Me panel layout that you want to create.
The following table describes the fields that you can configure on the Create New Guide Me Panel dialog box:

Name
Name for the new Guide Me panel layout.
Description
Description for the Guide Me panel layout.
Type
Select the page for which you want to design the Guide Me panel layout.
Note: If you opted to clone an existing layout, you can't modify this field.
Assign To
Specify the users to which you want to assign the Guide Me panel layout.
Select one of the following values:
- Specific Roles. Assign the layout to users with specific roles.
- Specific User Groups. Assign the layout to users that are part of specific user groups.
- All. Assign the layout to users of all roles in your organization.
4Click Create.
5Drag and drop sections to change their position in the Guide Me panel.
6To add a custom section, click Add new section. In the Description field of a custom section, you can add information that reflects your organization's usage of Data Marketplace.
Note: You can't modify the contents of a predefined section.
7To hide a section, slide the Show Section toggle in the Properties tab to off. To remove a section, click the Delete icon.
Note: You can't delete a predefined section.
8At any time, click Preview to visualize how the Guide Me panel will appear to Data Marketplace users.
9To check whether the layout is configured correctly, click the Validate icon. Fix the issues that appear in the Validation Errors panel.
10To save the layout, click Save.
The layout is saved for the Guide Me panel. However, the layout is not yet available to users.
11To make a saved layout available to users, open the layout and click Publish.
The layout is now available in Data Marketplace to all the users that you have specified.
Modifying or deleting Guide Me panels
You can modify an existing Guide Me panel layout or delete it if it's no longer needed.
To perform this task, verify the following prerequisites:
•Your user profile is assigned one of the following roles:
- Technical Administrator
- Data Marketplace Administrator
•Your user profile is assigned a role for which the View Set up Page and Configure and Manage Data Marketplace privileges are enabled in Administrator.
1Open the Setup page.
2On the Setup > Layout tab, select the Guide Me panel layout that you want to modify or delete.
Note: You can't modify or delete a predefined Guide Me panel layout.
3To modify a layout, use the Edit button from the Action menu next to the selected layout.
4To delete a layout, use the Delete button from the Action menu next to the selected layout.
