The May 2024 release of Data Marketplace includes the following new features and enhancements.
Enhanced data collection search experience
When you search for relevant data collections, Data Marketplace now runs your search query on the following items:
•Name and description of a data element.
•Name and description of a data asset.
•Name and description of a data collection.
Data Marketplace runs your search query on the names and descriptions of both native data assets and their constituent elements and also on Data Governance and Catalog assets and elements.
The following image shows the Data Collections tab on the Search page listing some data collections in response to a search query:
The updated search experience makes it easier for you to search for relevant data without needing to know in advance whether the data is represented as a data element, data asset or data collection.
The following image shows the Other Items tab on the Search page listing a data asset and some data elements in response to a search query:
In relation to this, the Data Asset filter has been removed as there is a deeper free text search experience available.
The following image shows the Related Data Collections tab on the Search page that opens when you click the Show related data collections button on the Other Items tab:
Note: The newly added Other Items tab on the Search page where you can view the data assets and data elements that match your search query won't immediately display any items even after your Informatica Intelligent Cloud Services POD is upgraded. To view the items on this tab, you must add or remove a data asset from a data collection. A short while after you perform this action, you would be able to fully explore new search experience. You need to perform this action only once.
Earlier, Data Marketplace ran your search query on only data collections.
