Delivery formats

A delivery format object represents the format in which the data is delivered. Delivery Owners use delivery formats to create delivery templates. Use the Marketplace - Delivery Format Template.xlsx file or upload your own Microsoft Excel spreadsheet to create delivery formats in Data Marketplace.

Prerequisites

Before you can create delivery formats, verify one of the following prerequisites:

Column description

The following table describes the fields in the Marketplace - Delivery Format Template.xlsx file and the values that you can enter:
Field
Description
Example
Reference ID
Enter a reference identifier for the delivery format.
Field Type: Free text; optional
Guidelines: If you don't specify a reference identifier, Data Marketplace automatically assigns a unique value to the object.
If you want to specify a reference identifier, enter a unique alphabetical, numeric or alphanumeric value. You can also use special characters when you enter a reference identifier value. Ensure that the value that you enter doesn’t use a prefix value that is configured in Metadata Command Center.
For more information about reference IDs, see the Manage reference IDs of objects topic in the Set Up Data Marketplace help.
You can specify DFormat01 or DF-1 as the reference ID of a delivery format. However, if DFT- is a reference ID prefix that is configured in your Metadata Command Center, you cannot use DFT-1.
Format Name
Enter a name for the delivery format as you want it to appear in Data Marketplace.
Field Type: Free text; required
Guidelines: The delivery format names should clearly indicate the data format that they represent.
.XLSX File, .CSV File, .PDF document
Status
Specify a status for the delivery format. The status determines whether a delivery format is available to be added to delivery templates.
Field Type: Fixed value; required Enter one of the following values:
  • - To make the delivery format available, set the status to ACTIVE.
  • - To make the delivery format unavailable, set the status to INACTIVE.
Guidelines: Typically, the delivery formats that you create should be activated for use. If you are creating inactive delivery formats, ensure that you have a valid reason for doing so, or you can create the delivery formats later.
