Informatica recommends that you use the predefined XLSX template file that you download from Data Marketplace to bulk create items. The template file contains the field names that you must enter to create new items. If you hover your cursor over some column headers, you can view the instructions that help you understand and enter the correct values.
The following guidelines and recommendations apply for the XLSX template files that you download from Data Marketplace and your own Microsoft Excel spreadsheet:
•The template files that you downloaded from Data Marketplace are in XLSX format. We recommend that you open the downloaded template files in Microsoft Excel or a similar spreadsheet application.
•You can use your own Microsoft Excel file to create items in Data Marketplace.
Open a new Microsoft Excel file from your computer. Ensure that you enter the column header values correctly. Enter values for all the required fields. After populating the data, save your Microsoft Excel file in the .xlsx, .xls, or .csv format.
Note: If the template file contains fields that allow you to enter only specific values, you can view the values that you can enter. To do this, right click the tab at the bottom of the sheet and click the Unhide option. In the Unhide dialog box that appears, select the Predefined_Values sheet and click OK.
You can also upload your own Microsoft Excel file to bulk create items in Data Marketplace. Enter the values correctly in the template file or Microsoft Excel spreadsheet and upload it to Data Marketplace.
Note: If the Microsoft Excel file that you use is in CSV format, when you use a text editor to enter values, do not use commas. In CSV files, commas are used as column separators.
