Before you begin
Before you create a catalog source, ensure that you have the information required to connect to the source system.
Perform the following tasks:
- •Create a service account in the Google Gemini Enterprise Agent Platform source system with the following roles assigned:
- - Vertex AI Viewer
- - Discovery Engine Viewer
- - Agent Registry Viewer
- - MCP Tool User
- •Ensure you have access to Google Gemini Enterprise Agent Platform models.
- •Create endpoint catalog sources for connection assignment.
- •To extract metadata from a Google Gemini Enterprise Agent Platform source system, enable the following APIs in the Google Cloud project:
- - Vertex AI API
- - Discovery Engine API
- - Agent Registry API
- •To extract metadata from agents and MCP servers, perform the following tasks:
- - Save each AI agent from which you want to extract metadata.
- - Register each MCP server in Agent Registry. Use the same region as the agent that uses the MCP server.
- - If an agent uses a custom MCP endpoint, configure the endpoint to allow the service account to list tools.
