Before you create a catalog source, ensure that you have the information required to connect to the source system.
Perform the following tasks:
•Verify permissions and privileges.
•Get the database source information to connect to the source system.
•Install the Secure Agent on a Windows machine.
Note:
The library files from
IBM Cognos
SDK are available only for Windows operating systems. You can't use a Secure Agent installed on a Linux machine.
•Copy the JAR files from the sdk\java\lib directory of the IBM Cognos SDK installation to a directory on the machine.
•If your database is SSL-enabled, specify appropriate values for the Trust Store file and Trust Store password fields in the configuration properties.
Note:
Test Connection to an SSL-enabled database fails if either the trust store file or trust store password value is not specified in the configuration properties.
•Create endpoint catalog sources for connection assignment.
