Before you begin
Before you create a catalog source, ensure that you have the information required to connect to the source system.
Perform the following tasks:
- •Assign the required permissions.
- •For Files reader mode ensure that:
- - You know the path to the directory that contains files for metadata extraction.
- - You have permissions to access and copy the files for metadata extraction.
- - The SSAS files are present on the machine that hosts the Secure Agent.
- •For Repository reader mode ensure that:
- - The Secure Agent runs on Microsoft Windows.
- - You know the name of the server that contains the repository of files for metadata extraction.
- - You have permissions to read SSAS project files from the SAAS Server.
- •Create endpoint catalog sources for connection assignment.
