About the Salesforce catalog source

You can use the Salesforce catalog source to extract metadata from a Salesforce source system.
Salesforce is a cloud-based platform that integrates Salesforce CRM, Salesforce Data 360, and Salesforce Flows applications for customer service, analytics, and automation.

Extracted metadata

You can extract specific metadata from a Salesforce source system with a Salesforce catalog source.
Metadata Command Center extracts metadata of the following objects from a Salesforce CRM application:
Note:
If there is a duplicate global list view that is not associated with a specific object in the source system, then only one global list view is extracted.
Metadata Command Center extracts metadata of the following objects from a Salesforce Data 360 application:
Metadata Command Center extracts metadata of the following objects from a Salesforce Flows application:
Note:
You can only extract metadata of the unmanaged flows.

Data profiling for Salesforce objects

Configure data profiling to run profiles on the metadata extracted from a Salesforce source system. You can view the profiling statistics in Data Governance and Catalog.
You can run data profiles on metadata extracted from the following Salesforce CRM objects:
Data Governance and Catalog profiles only those Salesforce Standard objects that can be retrieved and queried.
Note:
The data profiling task does not run profiles on List Views.

Compatible connectors

Before you configure a Salesforce catalog source, you must connect to the Salesforce source system.
Use the Salesforce connector to connect to the Salesforce source system.
