Before you create a catalog source, ensure that you have the information required to connect to the source system.
Perform the following tasks:
•Assign the required permissions.
•Configure a connection to the SAP BW source system in Administrator.
•Install the SAP BW Reader transport files on the machines that you want to connect to.
Note:
If you don't install the latest version of the SAP BW Reader transport files, the test connection fails when you configure the catalog source.
For more information, see Installing SAP BW Reader transport files in the SAP Connector module in the Data Integration Connectors help.
•Import SAP transports to the SAP BW source.
Note:
If you don't install the latest version of the transport files, the test connection fails when you configure the catalog source.
•Install the SAP JCo libraries.
•Configure the JAVA_LIBS property in Administrator.
•If the SAP Business Warehouse application is hosted on a private cloud, ensure that one of the following metadata extraction prerequisites is met:
- The virtual machine that hosts the Secure Agent is located in the same region and virtual private cloud as the virtual machine that hosts the SAP Business Warehouse application. This prevents network connectivity issues.
- If the virtual machine that hosts the Secure Agent is in a different virtual private cloud, ensure that the two clouds are properly peered or that network traffic is enabled between them.
•Create endpoint catalog sources for connection assignment.
