To extract metadata and to configure other capabilities that a catalog source might include, you need account access and permissions on the source system. The permissions required might vary depending on the capability.
Permissions for metadata extraction
Ensure that you have the required permissions to enable metadata extraction.
Verify that the administrator performs the following tasks:
•Removes the write-protection permissions from any SAP BusinessObjects universe that you want to export.
For more information about removing permissions, see the SAP BusinessObjects documentation.
•Assigns the SAP BusinessObjects repository user to the Universe Designer Users group and grants read access to all the metadata.
Note:
If the
SAP BusinessObjects
repository contains web intelligence reports in the Favorites or Personal folders, ensure that the user belongs to the Administrators group. To view Web intelligence reports, you need a custom security group and the appropriate user permissions.
