Install SAP Datasphere Command Line Interface

To run metadata extraction jobs through the SAP Datasphere CLI, install the SAP Datasphere Command Line Interface. You can install the CLI on both Linux and Windows machines.

If you use Linux, perform the following steps:

1Run the following installation commands on the Secure Agent machine:

- curl -fsSL https://rpm.nodesource.com/setup_22x | sudo bash -
- sudo yum install -y nodejs
- npm install -g @sap/datasphere-cli

2Run the following commands to confirm that the installation is successful:

- node -v
- npm -v
- datasphere-version

If you use Windows, perform the following steps:

1Install the following tools on the Secure Agent machine:

- Node.js version >=20 and <=22
- npm version >=8 and <=10
- npm install -g @sap/datasphere-cli

2Run the following commands to confirm that the installation is successful:

- node -v
- npm -v
- datasphere --version
