Before you create a catalog source, ensure that you have the information required to connect to the source system.
Perform the following tasks:
•Assign the required permissions.
•Configure a connection to the Tableau source system in Administrator.
•Create a Personal Access Token (PAT) for Tableau Server or Tableau Cloud to use the personal access token authentication type in a Tableau V3 connection.
The personal access token allows you to sign in to the Tableau REST API without hard-coded credentials or interactive sign-in.
•Create endpoint catalog sources for connection assignment.
