Important notices and upcoming changes

The October 2026 release of Cloud Data Integration for PowerCenter (CDI-PC) includes the following important notices and upcoming changes.

CDI‑PC update strategy

Effective in the October 2026 release, CDI-PC moves to a mode of update with a mandatory April update and an optional October update. Previously, both the April and October updates were mandatory.

The April update remains mandatory and includes a 90-day update window. The October update is optional. You can skip the October update and roll forward to the next April update, which includes all the updates from the earlier October update.

For example, if you apply the April 2026 update and want to avoid updating CDI-PC towards the end of the year, you can skip the October 2026 update and choose the April 2027 update as necessary. The April 2027 update includes all the October 2026 updates.

Apply the October 2026 update only if you need specific PAM fixes or critical security patches from that release. Otherwise, you can choose to update in April 2027.

Informatica maintains both the April and October updates. This model gives you more flexibility while keeping the release schedule predictable and supportable.

This section describes the features that are no longer in preview and are production ready effective in the October 2026 release.

Data Engineering Integration (Modernization) and Data Quality (Modernization)

Effective in the October 2026 release, the Data Engineering Integration (Modernization) and Data Quality (Modernization) alongwith the following products and services are production ready:

Installation and migration of Data Engineering Integration (Modernization) and Data Quality (Modernization)

Effective in the October 2026 release, installation and migration of Data Engineering Integration (Modernization) and Data Quality (Modernization) are production ready. Previously, this functionality was only available in preview.

You can now use the CDI-PC installer to install CDI-PC and the following products:

You can also use the same installer to migrate existing on-premises Data Engineering Integration and Informatica Data Quality services to the cloud.

On a Linux machine, you need to create a cluster configuration to connect to a non-native environment.

Installation of third-party distribution packages

Effective in the October 2026 release, Hadoop package installation is production ready. Previously, this functionality was only available in preview.

You can use third-party distribution packages to integrate a CDI-PC domain with the Hadoop environment.

The CDI-PC domain and client require the distribution packages for the following purposes:

You can use the CDI-PC installer to install a distribution package. Alternatively, you can install it using Integration Package Manager (the package manager). You can download the installers for all CDI-PC components and Hadoop packages from the CDI-PC home page.

DataProc and MapR for cluster configuration

Effective in the October 2026 release, the DataProc and MapR distribution packages are production ready. Previously, these distribution packages were only available in preview.

You can select the DataProc or MapR distribution package on the CDI-PC domain and Client when you configure a cluster for integration with Hadoop environments.

Note:

DataProc and MapR support applies only to Data Engineering Integration modernization in the native environment.

PowerCenter Modernization

Re-pointing support for Data Engineering Integration sources

Effective in the October 2026 release, you can repoint the following source and target connections when you convert Data Engineering Integration mappings:

Non-repointing conversion support for Microsoft Azure Synapse

Effective in the October 2026 release, you can convert Data Engineering Integration mappings that use Azure Synapse as the source or target. When a converted mapping uses the Partition Type or Target Schema Strategy properties, the assessment report flags them as partially converted.

Bulk update support for Hadoop Files V2 connections

Effective in the October 2026 release, you can use the bulk update connection template to create and update Hadoop Files V2 connections.
