The November 2024 release of Data Governance and Catalog includes the following changed behaviors.
Changed privileges for Data Governance and Catalog and Metadata Command Center
With metadata access control introduced in this release, some asset and feature privileges are no longer functional in Administrator. These privileges are now replaced by permissions and privileges that can be granted through access policies in Metadata Command Center. To enforce metadata access control, some new feature privileges are added to Administrator.

'Send for Approval' button change to 'Submit for Review'
When you create or update an asset that has a workflow configured, the button on the asset page for submitting the changes is now called 'Submit for Review'.
Previously, this button was called 'Send for Approval'.
Bulk export and import modifications
This release includes the following modifications to bulk export and import:
•You can now execute multi-port rules from the data quality rule occurrence using bulk import. You can define port names of primary data element in the Rule Port Name column and port names of secondary data element in the Secondary Data Element column.
•In the bulk import template and exported files for data quality rule template and search results, the Automation column is removed.
•In the bulk import template and exported files for data quality rule occurrence, the Threshold Result column is removed.
•In the bulk import template and exported files for data quality rule occurrence, the Total Count and the Exception columns are now renamed to Total Rows and Failed Rows respectively.
•When you create or update a data quality rule occurrence using the bulk import template, you must now specify the Scanned Time, Total Rows and Failed Rows if you have specified a data quality score in the Value field.
For more information about how you can bulk import assets, see the Bulk Import Assets help in Data Governance and Catalog.
Configure catalog sources with a mandatory runtime environment
When you configure a catalog source on the Metadata Command Center user interface, you must choose a runtime environment or a Secure Agent group where you want to run catalog source jobs.
Previously, you could configure a catalog source without selecting a runtime environment on the Metadata Command Center user interface. The catalog source job then selects and uses a random runtime environment.
For more information about how to configure a catalog source, see the Catalog Source Configuration help.
Governance Administrator role
The Governance Administrator role now includes features and privileges that you need to configure and run Application Integration processes and Human Tasks services using custom workflows.
Previously, the Governance Administrator role didn't include these roles and privileges by default.
For more information about the Governance Administrator role, see the Introduction and Getting Started help.
Workflow Privileges
A workflow now includes one or more stakeholder roles that participate in the workflow to act on an asset. Only stakeholders with stakeholder roles specified in the workflow can participate in the workflow.
Previously, a workflow included one or more user roles that could participate in the workflow.
For more information about workflows, see Configure workflows in the Administration help.
Assign stakeholders to technical assets
When you create or edit a catalog source, you now assign stakeholders with stakeholder roles. The stakeholders need to have Read or Update permissions defined in the stakeholder role policy definition.
Previously, you assigned stakeholders with user roles.
For more information about how to assign stakeholders, see Associate stakeholders with technical assets in the Catalog Source Configuration help.
