The November 2024 release of Data Marketplace includes the following changed behavior.
Changed privileges for Data Marketplace
With metadata access control introduced in this release, some feature privileges are no longer functional in Administrator. These privileges are now replaced by permissions and privileges that can be granted through access policies in Metadata Command Center. To enforce metadata access control, some new feature privileges are added to Administrator.

Updates to the permissions and privileges of predefined user roles
Data Marketplace Data User role
As a Data User, you can now request for your access to a data collection to be withdrawn.
Earlier, only the Data Owner of a data collection could submit consumer access withdrawal requests.
Data Marketplace Data Collection Technical Owner role
If your user profile is assigned the Technical Owner role on a data collection, you can now modify all the aspects of a data collection for which you are responsible.
Earlier, as a Technical Owner of a data collection, you could modify only certain aspects of a data collection.
Data Marketplace Data Collection Delivery Owner role
If your user profile is assigned the Delivery Owner role, you can no longer fulfill orders for data collections that are delivered using a delivery target linked to a delivery template for which you are responsible.
Data Marketplace Technical Administrator role
As a Technical Administrator, you can now modify all the aspects of a data collection in Data Marketplace.
Organization Administrator role
If your user profile is assigned the organization administrator role, you can no longer create, modify or delete objects in Data Marketplace. You can still view the objects in Data Marketplace. To create, modify or delete an object now, your user profile must be assigned the appropriate role in Data Marketplace.
For more information about user roles in Data Marketplace, see the Predefined roles topic in the Introduction and Getting Started help.
Updates to consumer accesses
View consumer access location
You can now view the contents of the Location field of a consumer access only if the system can verify one of the following prerequisites:
- You are the user that was granted access to the data collection that is associated with the consumer access.
- You are a stakeholder of the data collection for which the consumer access was created.
- Your user profile is assigned the Data Marketplace Administrator role or has the Configure and Manage Data Marketplace privilege enabled for it in Administrator.
Consumers tab of a data collection
On the Consumers tab of a data collection, the Consumer Access Details grid no longer displays the Business Justification column. Additionally, the consumer access reference IDs in the Access column that open a consumer access page will only be clickable if you are assigned the appropriate permissions and privileges.
For more information about consumer accesses, see the Consumer accesses topic in the Working With Data Collections help.
Viewing comments
If you are tagged in a comment, you can now view the comment only if you are assigned the appropriate permissions. For example, if you are tagged in a comment on a data collection however your user profile isn't assigned the permission required to view the data collection, you won't be able to access the comment.
Note: A user that was tagged in the Timeline section of an order, consumer access or data collection request won't be able to view the object until they are tagged again. This affects only the users that aren't assigned the appropriate permissions on the order, data collection request or consumer access. Stakeholders of the relevant categories or data collections, and the Data Marketplace Administrator won't experience any changes to their permissions on these objects.
For more information about adding comments to objects, see the Collaboration in Data Marketplace topic in the Introduction and Getting Started help.
Completing data collection requests
When you try to complete a data collection request, you can only select a data collection that you have permission to update.
For more information about data collection requests, see the Responding to requests for new data collections topic in the Working With Data Collections help.
Changes to email notifications
On the user settings page, if you have configured the notification frequency settings to receive email notifications summarizing an event or series of events for which email summary is configured, the system no longer sends an email if the email event for which you configured the notification hasn't occurred.
Earlier, if you configured the notification frequency settings to receive such email notifications, the system would send an empty email when the event wouldn't occur.
For more information about notifications, see the User Administration help in Administrator.
