Business entity record attribute

Business entity record attribute is a field that relates two business entity records. If you want to relate a record with multiple records without requiring them to be in a hierarchy, use the business entity record attribute of a business entity. Business users can search for records and set them as field values.
For example, you can add the following business entity record attributes to the Person business entity:
When a user creates a Person record named John Smith, the user can select a Person record as a professor name, a Course record as a course name, and a Classroom record as a classroom name.
You can view these relationships in the related records component. You can't view these relationships in a relationship graph.

Examples of business entity record attribute relationships

You can relate records that belong to different business entities.
For example, add a business entity record attribute named CEO to the Organization business entity. If you relate the attribute to the Person business entity, you can set any person record as a value for the CEO field.
You can also create a business entity and add multiple business entity record attributes that relate to multiple business entities to create one-to-many relationships.
For example, if you want to process healthcare claims, you need the names of doctors, the insurance details of payees, and the address of the healthcare office. You can relate the business entities that are used in your organization, such as Doctor, Insurance, and Office, and add them to the Claims business entity as business entity record attributes.
The following table lists the business entity, its fields, and the business entity record attributes:

For example, if you want to create boarding passes for an airline, you need an airplane name, airline name, passenger details, and the airport. You can relate the business entities that are used in your organization, such as Airline, Airplane, Passenger, and Airport, and add them to the Boarding Pass business entity as business entity record attributes.
