Before you start the modernization process, export the required configurations from an Operational Reference Store of the MDM Hub. Also, ensure that you belong to the MDM Modernization, MDM Designer, and Reference 360 Primary Owner user roles.
The modernization process requires the following details from an Operational Reference Store of the MDM Hub:
•Configuration details. The configuration details include business entities, fields, relationships, match rule sets, survivorship configurations, source systems, hierarchies and relationships, user roles, and lookup tables. The privileges related to each user role are part of the change list XML file. You can export the configuration details from the MDM Hub as a change list XML file.
•User account details. List of users and their user roles. The user account details include personal information, such as name, phone number, and email address of the user. The privileges related to each user role are part of the change list XML file. You can export the user accounts details to a CSV file through the User Migration tool of the MDM Hub.
Note: By default, the CSV file uses UTF encoding. Ensure that you don't modify the encoding type before uploading the CSV file.
•Mapped user roles. A properties file where you manually map the MDM Hub user roles with the MDM SaaS user roles. When you map MDM Hub user roles to predefined user roles in MDM SaaS, the privileges associated with the MDM Hub roles are replaced by the privileges in MDM SaaS.. However, when you map MDM Hub user roles to custom user roles in MDM SaaS, the privileges defined in the change list XML file for the MDM Hub user roles are assigned to the custom user roles.
When you have all these details handy, you can proceed to create a modernization project in Business 360 Console.
