Records related with a business entity record field

Records related with a business entity record field refer one record to another or group multiple records through multiple business entity record fields. For example, a person record can relate to an organization record through a business entity record field named Current Employer. You can group records from the Course, College, Student business entities through a business entity named Group.
You can view and manage records that are related with business entity record fields in a table.

Viewing and Filtering records that are related with business entity record fields

You can view and filter records that are related with business entity record fields based on a predefined filter or a custom condition.
If the record contains only one business entity record field relationship, the predefined filter option doesn't appear.
To filter the records based on a predefined filter, select a business entity record field from the Filter list.
The records in the table are filtered that by the selected business entity record field.
    1Open a record for which you want to view related records.
    The Record Details page appears.
    2To view records related with business entity record fields, go to the related records section or table.
    3Optionally, view a record related with business entity record fields.
    1. aHover over the row of the record you want to view.
    2. bClick the Actions menu, and select View Record.
    3. The selected record opens.
    4To filter records based on a custom condition, perform the following steps:
    1. aClick Edit > Add Condition.
    2. bSelect a field and then an operator from the list.
    3. cClick Search.
    4. d Enter the value based on which you want to filter records.
    5. eTo add another field, click Add Condition, and repeats steps 4.c. through 4.e.
    6. You can add multiple fields.
    7. fClick Apply.

Managing records that are related with business entity record fields

You can view, add, edit, and delete records that are related with business entity record fields. The records related with the business entity record fields appear in a table within the Record Details page.
Note:
To avoid entering invalid dates, use the date picker. If you enter a date in an invalid format, the related records table might not render correctly.
If you get a permission error, you must upgrade Customer 360 SaaS to the latest version.
    1 Open a record for which you want to view related records.
    The Record Details page appears.
    2To add, edit, or delete related records, click Edit.
    A temporary workspace opens with the fields that you can edit in edit mode.
    3Optionally, add a related record.
    1. aClick Add.
    2. bEnter values for the required fields.
    3. cClick Apply.
    4. A record is added to the related business entity.
    4Optionally, edit a related record.
    1. aHover over the row of the record you want to edit.
    2. bClick the Actions menu, and select Edit.
    3. cEdit the fields that you want to change.
    4. dClick Apply.
    5Optionally, delete a related record.
    1. aHover over the row of the record you want to edit.
    2. bClick the Actions menu, and select Delete.
    3. A confirmatory message appears.
    4. cClick Delete.
    5. The relationship to the related record is deleted for the business entity.
    6Click Submit.
    If the updated records don't require approval, the changes are published.
    7If approval is required, send the changes for approval. If approval is optional, you can choose whether you want to send the changes for approval.
    If any of the updated records for which you added, edited, or deleted related records require approval, the application creates Record Updated tasks when you send these records for approval.
