Create a workflow conversion task to convert the workflow assets of a PowerCenter repository or mapping assets of a Model repository to Data Integration.
Creating a workflow conversion task for PowerCenter assets
Create a workflow conversion task to convert the workflow assets of a PowerCenter repository to Data Integration.
The following video shows you how to create a workflow conversion task for PowerCenter assets:
1On the left navigation menu, click New.
The New Asset dialog box appears.
2Click Workflow Conversion Task, and then click Create.
The New Workflow Conversion Task page appears.
Alternatively, click the action menu of the repository to create or run a conversion task, and click Convert Assets.
Note: You can only convert the workflows whose assessment result is Automated or Partial. For the workflows whose assessment result is Manual, you need to convert them manually.
3Enter the required information as shown in the following table:
Property
Description
Name of the task
Name of the workflow conversion task.
Conversion Task Location
Click Browse and select the project or folder where you want to create the conversion task asset definition.
Note: Make sure that you have write access to the specified location.
Runtime Environment
The runtime environment that you want to use for creating the default connections during the conversion process.
Description
(Optional) Description of the conversion task.
Domain
The domain that contains the repository to be converted. From the Domain list, select the domain where you want to use this configuration.
Repository
Repository to be converted. Select the repository where you want to use this configuration.
Note: Make sure that the selected repository is assessed.
Conversion Properties Configuration
Conversion properties configuration that you want to use for the task. If you want to override the default conversion behavior of PowerCenter assets, select the required conversion properties configuration.
Connection Map Configuration
Connection map configuration that you want to use for the task. If you want to repoint the PowerCenter assets to another endpoint, select the required connection map configuration.
You can also provide connection map and the parameter files in the ZIP format. If a connection exists in the parameter ZIP file, the existing connection will be reused.
4Click Next.
The Select Folder tab displays the list of folders available in the selected repository.
5Click the folder name that contains the assets you want to convert, and click Next.
The Select Workflows tab displays the list of workflows available inside the folder.
6Click Next.
The list of workflows that are added to the conversion task appears.
7 Verify the workflows.
If required, you can select and remove a workflow.
8 Do one of the following:
- Click Save and Close to save the conversion task.
- Click Save and Run to save the conversion task and run it immediately.
The conversion task is created. You can view the list of conversion tasks in the Explore > All Tasks page. Use the Type filter to filter and view all the available conversion tasks.
Creating a workflow conversion task for Data Engineering Integration assets
Create a workflow conversion task to convert the mapping and workflow assets of a Model repository to Data Integration.
Ensure that the Model repository of the assets that you want to convert is assessed.
You can only convert the mapping and workflow assets whose assessment result is Automated or Partial. For the assets whose assessment result is Manual, you must convert them manually.
Note: Currently, CDI-PC does not support conversion of dynamic mapping and dynamic field mapping assets.
1On the left navigation menu, click New.
The New Asset dialog box appears.
2Click Workflow Conversion Task, and then click Create.
The New Workflow Conversion Task page appears.
Alternatively, click the action menu of the repository to create or run a conversion task, and click Convert Assets.
3Enter the required information as shown in the following table:

4Click Next.
The Select Project tab displays the list of projects available in the selected repository.
5Click the project name that contains the assets you want to convert, and click Next.
The Select Assets tab displays the list of assets available in the project.
6Select a maximum of 20 assets to convert.
7Click Next.
The list of assets that are added to the conversion task appears.
8 Review the assets and do one of the following:
- Click Save and Close to save the conversion task.
- Click Save and Run to save the conversion task and run it immediately.
The conversion task is created. You can view the list of conversion tasks in the Explore > All Tasks page. Use the Type filter to filter and view all the available conversion tasks.
