Creating assets

You can create various types of assets that you can add to a Data Quality transformation when you configure a mapping in Data Integration.
  1. 1To create the assets, click New.
  2. 2On the New dialog box, Data Quality displays the assets that you can create.
  3. The following table describes the data quality assets that you can create:
    Asset Name
    Description
    Cleanse
A Cleanse asset is a set of one or more data transformation steps that can standardize the form and content of your data. The asset comprises of one or more cleanse instances. Each instance in a cleanse asset contains the input fields on which you apply the cleanse operations. You can configure a cleanse asset to perform cleanse and merge operations on the input fields that a cleanse instance identifies in the asset.
    Deduplicate
A Deduplicate asset defines a set of duplicate analysis operations. Duplicate analysis measures the levels of record duplication in a data set and optionally consolidates each set of duplicate records into a single, preferred record.
    Dictionary
A Dictionary is a table of reference data that a mapping can read to evaluate the accuracy or usefulness of source data. You can create dictionaries that other data quality assets can use.
    Labeler
A Labeler asset derives information about the content and structure of data. You can configure a labeler asset to perform token labeling or character labeling. Token labeling analyzes one or more tokens, or delimited values, in an input field. Character labeling analyzes the individual characters in the input field.
    Parse
A Parse asset defines a set of operations that can identify discrete values in an input field and write the values to appropriate output fields. Use a parse asset to improve the structure of your data.
    Rule Specification
A Rule Specification is an asset that represents the data requirements of a business rule in logical form.
    Verifier
A Verifier is an asset that evaluates the accuracy and deliverability of address records. Use a verifier to determine the accuracy of the input addresses, fix errors in the addresses, and enhance the addresses where possible with additional information.
  4. 3Select the asset type that you want to create.
