A Visio template defines parameterized data flow logic used in mapping tasks.
As of the July 2024 release, Informatica has dropped support for Visio templates. You can't create new Visio templates, and you can't create or edit mapping tasks based on Visio templates. However, you can still edit Visio template properties and run existing mapping tasks based on Visio templates.
As an alternative to Visio templates, Informatica recommends that you take advantage of the mapping and mapping task templates. These templates include pre-built logic that you can use for data integration, cleansing, and warehousing tasks. The templates can be used as is or as a head start in creating a mapping or mapping task. You can choose the template that you want to use for a new mapping or mapping task on the New Asset dialog.
