Associate code list attributes with Data Governance and Catalog assets
You can associate code list attributes with glossary assets such as business terms and metrics, manual data elements, and technical data elements in Data Governance and Catalog. You can also link data elements to glossaries that are already associated with code list attributes.
For example, you can associate standardized region codes, such as APAC, EMEA, and AMER, that are defined in Reference 360 with the Customer Region business glossary term. When you tag data elements with the business glossary term, Reference 360 enforces the approved codes, ensuring consistent and governed data classification.
Use the Reference 360 and Data Governance and Catalog integration to view data lineage and understand the downstream impact of reference data.
For example, consider the Country Codes reference data that is defined in Reference 360. This reference data flows into downstream assets, such as CRM account records, regional sales dashboards, and GDPR data classification reports. When you update or retire a country code, use the lineage view in Data Governance and Catalog to identify all downstream assets that consume the reference data and assess the impact of the change across reports and business glossary terms.
To associate code list attributes with Data Governance and Catalog assets, you require the stakeholder role for Data Governance and Catalog assets.
