Visualize and explore how a record evolves over time by exploring its merge and unmerge events in an interactive event timeline. You can filter events, and view events grouped by year and month in the timeline.
Lineage page
Use the Lineage page to visualize and explore how a record evolved over time through an event timeline.
The timeline displays up to a total of 1,000 of the most recent merge and unmerge events in chronological order. If a record has 10 or more events, the timeline groups them by year and month.

The following table describes the different user interface elements that you can find on the Lineage page:

Navigation menu
List of months you can navigate to find events. The list shows each month, along with the number of events for each month.
Event
Displays event details, such as type and date.
Click an event to view more details in the event details panel.
Show/Hide Filter
Displays the Filter menu.
To apply a filter for the events, click Add Filter and select from the following options:
- Date Range. Filters the history feed based on a date range. You can select Today, Last 7 days, Last 30 days, or Custom.
- Event. Filters the events based on event types. You can filter based on merge or unmerge event types.
- Business Entity Fields. Filters the events based on business entity fields that were updated as part of the event. You can filter based on a single business entity field or all fields.
Change event details
The event details provide information about a merge or unmerge event for a master record. Event details also provide a graphical chart that shows records that contributed to the master record at the time of the event.
To view event details, click an event in the event timeline. The event details panel shows key details such as the event type and date. You can also view a chart of records that contributed to the master record and records that merged into or unmerged from the master record at the time of the event. In the chart, hover over a record to view the full business ID. The color of each record matches the color of the source system for that record.

In the unmerge event, the record with business ID MDM00000004I1F unmerged from a master record. The master record received the new business ID MDM00000004I1G.
To view an event summary and other key details, click View Details, and then click the following tabs:
•Event Summary. Displays the summary and details of the event. The Event Summary tab appears for delete, merge, unmerge, and restore events, and also for relationship updates. The Event Summary tab doesn't appear for create and update events.
•Business Entity Fields. Displays the changes to the business entity fields.
To view all the fields, clear Show the updated fields.
•Relationship Attributes. Applies to relationship updates. Displays the changes to the relationship attributes.
To view all the attributes, clear Show the updated fields.
•Hierarchies. Applies to hierarchical updates. Displays the changes to the hierarchical relationship attributes.
To view all the attributes, clear Show the updated fields.
