BPMN Implementation: Timer catch event
The wait activity tells the business process to wait for a given time period or until a certain time has passed.
The wait expression conforms to an expression, where the value is an XML schema type of dateTime, date, or duration.

To build a wait activity

  1. 1. Drag a Timer catch event to the Process Editor canvas.
  2. 2. In the Properties view, select a Wait Type: Duration or Deadline. You can select a static duration or deadline or create an expression.
  3. 3. Select the duration or deadline static control or click the Dialog (...) Button next to Deadline or Duration Expression.
  4. 4. In the Expression box, specify one of the following:
