Important Notices
This section describes important notices for version 10.2 HotFix 2.
Support Changes
This section describes the support changes in version 10.2 HotFix 2.
Verify the Hadoop Distribution Support
Verify the version of the Hadoop distribution in the Hadoop environment.
Big Data Management, Big Data Streaming, Big Data Quality, and PowerCenter supports the following Hadoop distributions:
- •Amazon EMR
- •Azure HDInsight
- •Cloudera CDH
- •Hortonworks HDP
- •MapR
In each release, Informatica can add, defer, and drop support for the non-native distributions and distribution versions. Informatica might reinstate support for deferred versions in a future release. To see a list of the latest supported versions, see the Product Availability Matrix on the Informatica Customer Portal:
OpenJDK
Effective in version 10.2 HotFix 2, Informatica installer packages OpenJDK (AzulJDK). The supported Java version is Azul OpenJDK 1.8.192.
Sqoop mappings on the Spark engine do not use the Azul OpenJDK packaged with the Informatica installer. Sqoop mappings on the Spark and Blaze engines continue to use the infapdo.env.entry.hadoop_node_jdk_home property in the hadoopEnv.properties file. The HADOOP_NODE_JDK_HOME represents the directory from which you run the cluster services and the JDK version that the cluster nodes use.
Previously, the installer used the Oracle Java packaged with the installer.
DataDirect SQL Server Legacy ODBC Driver
Effective in version 10.2 HotFix 2, Informatica dropped support for the DataDirect SQL Server Legacy ODBC Driver file DWmsss27.x because DataDirect no longer supports this driver.
When you use an ODBC connection to connect to Microsoft SQL Server, you can use the DataDirect 8.0 SQL Server Wire Protocol packaged with the Informatica installer, or any ODBC driver from a third-party vendor.
PowerExchange for SAP NetWeaver
Effective in version 10.2 HotFix 2, PowerExchange for SAP NetWeaver supports the SAP NetWeaver RFC SDK 7.50 libraries for PowerCenter.
The existing mappings that use the SAP NetWeaver RFC SDK 7.20 libraries will not fail. However, Informatica recommends that you download and install the SAP NetWeaver RFC SDK 7.50 libraries.
New Products
PowerExchange Adapters for PowerCenter
This section describes new PowerCenter adapters in version 10.2 HotFix 2.
- PowerExchange for Tableau V3
- Effective in version 10.2 HotFix 2, you can use the Tableau V3 connection to read data from multiple sources, generate a Tableau .hyper output file, and write the data to Tableau.
For more information, see the Informatica PowerExchange for Tableau V3 10.2 HotFix 2 User Guide for PowerCenter.
Release Tasks
PowerExchange Adapters for Informatica
This section describes release tasks for Informatica adapters in version 10.2 HotFix 2.
PowerExchange for Snowflake
Effective in version 10.2 HotFix 2, the Snowflake JDBC driver version 3.6.26 installs with the Informatica Services. Existing Snowflake mappings from 10.2 HotFix 1 release might fail after the upgrade because the installation location now contains the Snowflake JDBC driver version 3.6.4 from version 10.2 HotFix 1 and Snowflake JDBC driver version 3.6.26 from version 10.2 HotFix 2.
To run existing Snowflake mappings from the Developer Tool, you must delete the Snowflake JDBC driver version 3.6.26 and retain only version 3.6.4 in the following directory in the Data Integration Service machine: <Informatica installation directory>\connectors\thirdparty
PowerExchange Adapters for PowerCenter
This section describes release tasks for PowerCenter adapters in version 10.2 HotFix 2.
PowerExchange for Google BigQuery
Effective in version 10.2 HotFix 2, the PowerExchange for Google BigQuery plug-in has been updated with new elements for Custom Query, SQL Override, and Quote Char properties. Existing Google BigQuery mappings from the earlier release might fail after the upgrade because the existing plug-in does not contain the new elements.
To run existing Google BigQuery mappings from the PowerCenter client and enable the Custom Query, SQL Override, and Quote Char properties, you must re-register the bigqueryPlugin.xml plug-in with the PowerCenter repository.
